I diagnosed this washer as needing a new transmission and washplate over a year ago, but the customer opted for just the new wash plate and to run it till it died. Well, it died just recently and to hear the customer tell it it was quite the dramatic death scene. They said it started smoking and then blew the breaker and then sparked when they reset it!

It looks like the main tub seal gave out and water leaked down onto the stator motor which shorted out and burnt out wiring.

It’s a Kenmore but it’s made by Whirlpool, you can always tell by the first three digits of the model number, 110 means it was built by Whirlpool for Kenmore.
