Gas range NG to LP conversion

Customer called me complaining that the flames on the burners on his stovetop were too high and yellow in color. When I got there I asked about the range, a new GE gas range, and he said he just had it installed.

He was ‘told’ by the installer that it had already been converted from Natural Gas to Liquid Propane. When one or two burners are too high or discolored it might be related to their individual settings but when all of them are bad it’s inevitably due to it having the wrong orifices for the type of gas.

This one was tricky to complete the conversion because I had no guide, no service manual, or data sheet that tells you which orifice goes in which burner, and this stove has 5 surface burners all of different sizes. In the end I got them all in, as well as the bake and broil and the main valve. Happy customer.
