Many dryers I see have too much vent pipe.

The solid wall 4″ pipe and elbows are the best type because their smooth walls lower the air flow restriction you get from this corrugated piping.

In this case the pipe was crushed behind the dryer severely limiting air flow resulting in burning out the element.

I was able to remove nearly 5 feet of excess corrugated piping!
